Recruitment
The Recruitment Process
What does the application process look like?
If you are interested in learning more about Alpha Kappa Psi at Miami University, we encourage you to attend one of our information nights on Monday, February 10th, or Tuesday, February 18th. These events provide a great opportunity to hear from our current brothers as they share their experiences within the chapter. After the presentations, there will also be time to ask our members questions and learn more about how the organization can benefit you. These information nights provide valuable insights into the people and culture of the Gamma Chi chapter.
Following the information nights, there is an additional resume and case workshop on Friday, February 21st. This workshop offers a unique opportunity to work one-on-one with a brother who will review your resume and provide tips on how to enhance it. Additionally, you can participate in our case interview workshop, where you will learn how to tackle real-life business problems. Executive members of our student-run consulting firm, East Bridge Consultancy, will guide you on best practices for group case interviews, and Jack Mercer, our VP of Recruitment, will be available to offer advice. While this workshop is optional, we highly encourage attendance for those who wish to strengthen their application.
The final step in the application process is to click the link below, which will redirect you to our Spring 2025 application page. There, you will submit your final resume, and our Vice President of Recruitment will contact you regarding your interview round decision. Please note that all applications are due by Saturday, February 22nd at 11:59pm.
What does the interview process look like?
If you advance beyond the resume round, you will have the opportunity to sign up for a first-round, in-person interview time slot. These interviews will begin on Monday, February 24th. These interviews are structured similarly to a speed-dating format, where you will have one-on-one conversations with several brothers for approximately five minutes each. This round is designed to be more informal, providing a chance for mutual introductions and to get to know one another. The dress code for this event is business professional.
Following the first round interviews, you will be notified of your status regarding admittance to a second round interviews shortly thereafter. The second round of interviews is a more thorough and extensive process compared to the first. If you are selected to move forward, you will be invited to attend a “Meet the Chapter” event. This informal event will take place on Friday, February 28th, providing both the brothers and candidates a chance to further assess if Alpha Kappa Psi is an appropriate fit. The dress code for this event is business casual.
There is no elimination after the “Meet the Chapter” event. Following this part of the second round interview process, you will be scheduled for the final round of interviews. This final step will take place on Monday, March 3rd, and Tuesday, March 4th. During this final stage, you will participate in a formal sit-down interview and be expected to answer a series of behavioral interview questions. Immediately following this, you will join a group of fellow potential new members in a case interview where you will be tasked with solving a business problem. This portion of the interview is designed to evaluate your teamwork and creative-problem solving skills, as there is no single “correct” answer. The dress code for the final interview is business professional.
After all final round interviews have been completed, final decisions will be released on Sunday, March 9th, otherwise known as Bid Day.
