Annual Jacob Butze Memorial 5K Run

In 2020, Jacob Butze, a brother of our chapter, passed away from Acute Lymphoblastic Leukemia (ALL). Jacob was a dedicated runner, serving as the captain of his varsity cross-country team and participating in indoor and outdoor track. His passion for running and his inspiring resilience in the face of ALL left a lasting impact on his community. Despite his illness, he remained a dedicated advocate for his own care, displaying a quiet strength that drew people closer.

Alpha Kappa Psi hosts the Jacob Butze Memorial 5k to honor Jacob's legacy. This community event celebrates Jacob’s passion for his brothers, family, and running while spreading awareness and raising money for his organization, which goes directly to scholarships for those affected by cancer.

This year’s run will take place November 16th, 2024 at 12pm in Peffer Park, Oxford, Ohio!
